Jeez, took me a long time to read the “per 100,000 people”. I just knew 1 death per 1 capita, that can’t be right…

There have been upscaling AIs for a few years, which can take a blurry picture and then e.g. guess that some pixels are probably hair, so it’ll swap those out for a custom rendered version of hair.
Sometimes that works well, but you often still have Uncanny Valley stuff going on. I also certainly don’t feel like they’re better at actually interpreting low-res images than humans, not in their current state.
And well, it should also be noted that if you prime such an AI with an image of the suspect, it will absolutely find a way to make a blurry mess of pixels look like that. So, it certainly shouldn’t serve as the only evidence.
I was gonna say, I’m not sure there’s non-acidic ingredients that have the same acidic/sour taste.
But there are these bubblegums that are extremely sour, so I guess, we do have a way of triggering those taste receptors without melting away your jaw. 🫠
Ketchup contains vinegar. Probably don’t want that down there…
Man, just imagine being 48 and getting the punishment for something your 25-year-old self did.
These are rarely mutually exclusive. Rather the opposite, as these textures and whatnot need to be pumped through RAM and VRAM via the CPU.
What kind of propaganda non-sense article is that? I live in Germany. We’re doing absolutely fine.
For anyone left behind, Minetest is a community-developed alternative.
It’s more of a game engine/launcher + highly moddable, so the base game is rather minimalistic, but you can simply install more extensive games. For example, for a very Minecraft-like experience, MineClone2 is your best bet.

They might not sell it, but they probably wouldn’t get funding for buying another one.
Yeah, why not straight up ask, if you’d like to work for them under shitty conditions with abysmal pay?
I always imagine, the poor social media person’s wage directly depends on how many viral posts they’ve made. And so they try and they try again, hoping that one day, one of their sterile brand-safe posts will somehow hit a nerve and make it big time.
Unfortunately, that still does not make these forced jokes any funnier.
There’s been tons of right-leaning Reddit alternatives before, but they always quickly devolved into Nazi spaces.
Lemmy was the first one that I’m aware of, which told Nazis to fuck off right from the beginning.
https://tilvids.com has some reasonable ones, although they’re often just as well YouTubers, so you get similar clickbait, unfortunately.
Yeah, these days it’s obvious that video games are the next logical step in media consumption. First we had audio. Then we had audio+video. Now we have audio+video+interaction. You can literally watch a movie inside of a video game, if you care to.
But back then, the audio and video qualities of games weren’t yet terribly developed. You could still easily find board games, or heck, sports, that were more complex than Pac-Man and Space Invaders.
I can definitely see that one would think, it’s a novelty and not be able to imagine how cineastic games would become, or that some even contain books worth of history lessons.
