I listen to Hardcore History to go to sleep, and yeah, descriptions of some horrific situations apparently don’t interfere with my relaxation.

I listen to podcasts about Tolkien works, nothing will put you to sleep faster than someone slow-talking their way through a bunch of first-age Valar and Elf nonsense.

If you haven’t heard them yet you’ve got to try the audio books when they had Andy Serkis read them. I tried to listen at work and I had to stop because all I wanted to do was nap

I recently finished a Silmarillion listen (not the Serkis version) so it might be a couple months before I start another round. Will definitely keep the Serkis ones top of mind!

I listen to metal to fall asleep. Weird as it may sound, listening to something that’s higher energy than me is straight up exhausting to the point that it saps all my remaining energy and I just conk right out.
I especially like Japanese metal for it, because not being able to understand the words means I don’t get focused on the meaning of the song and stay up thinking about it.

I just put my head down and I’m out in a minute or two at most. When I was stressed and not enjoying life it would take an hour or two.

I find you can often tell a person’s mental health by how easily they fall asleep and how rested they are when they awake.

History of Rome put me to sleep for a couple years.

Got to the point where I would wake up and be like "oh we’re on Aurelian, or “Oh it’s the Julian the apostate episode.”

      Mike Duncan is tremendous.

Been listening to Lovecraftian stories on YouTube to fall asleep. They’re always read in a soothing tone that instantly puts me out.

Thought this was a white girl thing. Nope. Crept into bed last week with my wife,

“And then he cut his sister’s throat because of the boy she was with and mom wouldn’t buy him a pistol…”

LOL, I think she’s doing it right now!

I listen to Kitboga slowly drive scammers into insanity. Theres something very soothing about grandma Edna drone on and on about her pecan sandies.
