It’s a standalone AP. No controller. Two different SSIDs.
I’ve had it running now for 2 hours and of course now it works. The only change since last time is that I’ve reset the AP and did a firmware upgrade. Perhaps that fixed it…

There’s only a single DHCP server, a Pihole, which also serves as DNS. Switch B is a cheaper switch, so that may be the culprit. I use it for heavy downloading from my Xbox and that is never a big issue. Speeds fluctuate from 100 to 900mbps (my max) but that’s not necessarily a switch problem.
Yep, thanks for checking, there’s only 1 DHCP server on my network. I’ve just moved it back to behind switch B and will do more investigation when the problem occurs again.
I’ve just moved it back to behind switch B, will do testing as you suggest.
The switch doesn’t have POE, the Unifi AP does use POE via its own POE injector.
Thanks. I’ve recently reset it, it has its own IP via DHCP. I’ve just moved it back to behind switch B, will do testing as you suggest.
Thanks for the long reply! I’ve tested Fully Kiosk again and now it seems to work perfectly. Previously it was not reliable, guess they have fixed it.
Thanks mate, much appreciated. That’s what I mean, it’s complicated… I have no idea what extra hardware I’d need. I just want to connect it via Coaxial and the only thing I can find is very complicated docs like you found :)
BT is not an option as I’d like to keep using the tablet directly to BT in case MA/HA is down.
MA and HA are hosted on a RPi4 in the garage, not near the speakers.
Good stuff, congrats
When I was still drinking, I never understood people drinking tea. Now I really enjoy it. We just try different flavours green tea/herbal tea/black tea/etc from: https://www.tleaft.co.nz/ They ship world wide but I guess there is something in your area too.
I’ve been sober for 5.5 years. Recently we had a party and someone gave us champagne. I thought, well it’s been 5.5 years, I should be able to handle a glass. After a couple of sips I felt the urges so much more intense than before. I had another glass, already causing some weird looks from close people, and felt bad afterwards. Since then, now and then the idea of trying again slipped into my mind. Feels like my mind is tricking me that I should try again. We’re on a weekend break away now, so another reason for my mind to say that it would be okay to drink.
I read my notes from when I quit, with reasons why I quit, as I thought I would need them later. That definitely helped. Still, having urges :(
Why can’t I drink like most normal people :( Thanks for reading.
Iwndwyt.
Yeah think I’ll get a standalone WiFi smart plug, not connected to my Home Assistant, as a kill switch. But you’re right, it’s overkill.
I found some weird things in the logs, this goes beyond my knowledge :( See https://lemmy.nz/comment/6192604
Not necessarily, I have devices that are cloud dependent. Locally in NZ there aren’t a lot of options, all smart plugs are cloud dependent. Also things like weather integrations will stop working.
Home Assistant. It’s a rabbit hole, but it’s great. I’ve got motion enabled lights, thermostats for “dumb” heaters, and I track device usage (tablet, xbox) of my kids.
AC Lite. It doesn’t need controller, it’s standalone. I configure it via the mobile app.
