One of my favourite YouTubers Paul Whitewick did an interesting video on this.
This was the sort of thing, along with the wonderful tradition of daytime children’s educational television and nighttime Open University television, that was the inspiration for Look Around You. I can imagine kids in the 80s being forced to watch this by a computer hating teacher!

This is always my main comment about those movies. They have made absolutely no cultural impact whatsoever. Very beautiful, but it’s just skin deep.
