I bet someone will still try to walk through
I bet someone will still try to walk through
I get it, capitalism fucking sucks. We’re talking coping mechanisms for taking breaks from the struggle though, and I’m just describing what works for me. There’s no guarantee that the things that work for me will work for everyone. I just think people work too much and should take breaks whenever they’re able.
The NEA is peak business union. There are movements to democratize the union though. It’s happening in most unions lately
One of my tricks to extend vacation time on a PTO budget is to alternate the days between paid and unpaid, usually 3 days a week instead of the typical 5. 2 weeks can get extended to at least 3 by alternating. My approach is a hold over from working retail, where we had no PTO. The idea is that I wouldn’t be getting paid anyways, so I shore up the budget before vacation so the shortfall payday doesn’t create too much disruption
To me, that sounds like you need to take the time to do your home projects first and then take the vacation. I don’t know what would work best for you, but for me it would be taking another 6 week break. I’d spend the first 3 weeks doing the home tasks, and the next 3 on the vacation
You should try it, long vacations are awesome
That means your vacations aren’t long enough. I tend to start getting the feeling of wanting to be productive about 2.5 weeks into any long vacation. Start with 3 weeks and then take off even more next time if it didn’t work
They have a debian based version, it’s pretty awesome. It’s still a beta fork atm, but it’s rock solid so far
Factory farming should be banned. Food is not worth that cruelty, even if the fires have nothing to do with the farm itself.
Having lived in a house with radiators, bleeding registers is like a once every 5 years type of task. There’s a much larger leak in the system, you should talk to your apartment manager.
I have a friend that likes it well done. I cook it to medium well because I love them
They won’t realize it unless someone helps them understand. Start with organizing a union
That’s a hell of a way to learn you have crabs
Still a drop in the bucket, but these are fine numbers I can get behind
It’s not so much a special capacity of swifties, but that they’re probably the only large unified bloc anywhere on the electoral left. I like them because they’re a large enough group of progressive liberals to prove that a unified front is absolutely effective
The action is pretty neat I suppose, but it looks like it could get messy if you have to cut anything pressurized
Hey, I resemble those remarks
People are hoping, almost unconsciously, that hypocrisy still matters
The index looks at how every congressional district voted in the past two presidential elections combined and compares it to the national average.
Sounds like a poll to me. If you actually look at how the politics play out at the state level, it tells a different story.
I like to find news sources that analyze the story as well as explains where it fits into the ongoing situation, why it’s relevant, and has a reasonably accurate history of predictions based on their analysis. Since this is rare, I try to find a source that has 3 of the 4 to make it part of my news consumption. So this tends to include Democracy Now!, Some More News, Last Week Tonight, Beau of the Fifth Column, AP, and the like. A lot of the sources shared on lemmy, bar the NYT, are in that category
