She needs to still show up as scheduled, say that just because trump won’t make time for the American people doesn’t mean she will ignore them
That reminds of the 2020 presidential election in Poland when both candidates did exactly what you describe - they debated at the same time but in separate studios. And the story how it came to that is wild.
This was after the first round of the elections (where two candidates are selected for the second round), which involved things like last-minute rescheduling of the elections, last-minute candidate swap and effectively throwing away 20 million dollars of public money. Currently there are several criminal investigations conducted against people involved in organisation of that first round. And of course it was all in the middle of the pandemic. So the political chaos was at its absolute peak.
The two candidates were the country’s president representing then ruling party and capital city’s mayor representing then biggest opposition party. Both of course wanted the debate. The issue was that then ruling party turned the public broadcaster into a party propaganda machine compared by experts to that created by Goebbels. And the core of that propaganda was that the second biggest (private) broadcaster in Poland (owned by Discovery Group) is anti-Polish and cannot be trusted.
Both broadcasters offered they can organise the debate. The private one I believe was also willing to jointly host it. But the ruling party candidate couldn’t agree to a debate hosted by the private broadcaster because that would significantly impact the propaganda and expose his many wrongdoings to the manipulated ruling party voters.
On the other hand, the opposition candidate couldn’t agree for the debate hosted only by the public broadcaster because that would effectively be 2 hours of him trying to deny lies spread by hosts and the other candidate.
The 2nd round was coming close and no compromise has been found. So on the same day the two broadcasters prepared their studios for two candidates with audience. Ruling party candidate went to public broadcaster, opposition candidate to private one. Both declared the other as a “no-show” and proceeded to have a “debate” with hosts and audience.
Few days later the opposition candidate lost by a small margin.
Most of Europe does
SearXNG is also amazing. The only reason I don’t use it more is because it doesn’t have an integration into the URL bar in Firefox.
One more advantage is that you now have the full process well documented (via code) and if you realize some change is needed you can repeat the task quickly.
I do know from experience that networks are complicated and users are dumb, but I still think that if someone with barely any knowledge and without malicious intent can mess with your network then something’s wrong with the setup.
But if the bio or art major can seriously affect your network then is that even their fault? What if someone had skill and malicious intent?
If someone deploys their router using a uni network as wan then I don’t see how that could affect other uni network users? I can imagine some internal services might not work behind such a router but it would be illogical of the user to blame anyone but themselves.
Can you give some examples of issues you mention?

Are you trying to imply the US is a first world country? /s
Police can and regularly do simply skip their shifts or stand around doing nothing of consequence, while collecting a paycheck
You’re mixing two things here. In a private firm unions are needed because they balance the power. (Simplifying) Employer wants to exploit workers, union keeps them in check. (ofc employers don’t need to be exploitative for unions to be needed etc etc etc)
But when the employer is completely dysfunctional the unions become dysfunctional too. I don’t really know how the US government justifies paying for police doing nothing, but it’s the core of the problem. If there’s no expectation to work then unions have nothing to do and become something weird.
The solution is not to take unions away, but rather to stop pouring money for no work and restore that employer-union power balance.
So defund the police, I guess?
Believe it or not a lot of people here (including me) had no knowledge about that issue before this announcement was posted.
And my comment is referring to one very specific “thread” from your comment. Yes, you’re discussing other issues in your comment, but they’re at best only vaguely related to that first sentence.
Try reading some current information on it.
Oh no no no, we don’t play that game here. If you’re trying to convince someone of your argument, the burden of providing reputable and scientifically accurate evidence is on YOU and you only.
And only if the other side won’t accept scientific evidence then you can blame them.
I’m not saying cats can’t be vegan but to the best of my knowledge their diet must be meat based. As it is you who are trying to convince me (and others) cats can be vegan, it is also you who must provide the evidence.
I understand and agree with your attitude to buying a car on credit. Two semi-objective justifications I can see are safety and quality-of-life.
Newer and better cars are safer, and you might not have even a minor collision throughout the whole lifetime of the car, but the (hopefully never) day a crash happens you’ll be forever grateful to yourself you bought this car. And if you have some “smart” assistants on-board those actually can make you not end up in the accident.
From my experience I have realized that (within reasonable bounds) if spending more on something results in substantiality higher quality-of-life then it’s a money well spent. Because you end up being happier, calmer and actually more productive if you don’t have to waste your energy on inconvenient things.
Not sure if that makes you feel any better…
Sorry mate, those figures with no meaningful captions are borderline incomprehensible. Like, what’s the difference between first and second figure?
the fuckup in redefining the mole in 2019
What? It was necessary due to our observations of the universe (on every scale), not some arbitrary “fuckup”
It is undoubtedly a new piece of research, but the cause is always the same: corporations exploit people because they are taken out of government and democratic control effectively everywhere.
Some corporations employ more people and have bigger budgets than some countries and they often influence people’s lives more than the government. Yet they’re effectively electoral monarchies where electors and monarchs are just a bunch of rich assholes who respond to nobody.
Only when we change that system then those headlines will stop.
It’s the tragedy of our times that advocating for basic human rights is somehow “leftist”
I create tables every day for run-of-the-mill stuff that simply doesn’t need a database. No one has time for that.
It seems that your issue isn’t the lack of tables in sheets but no easy way to create a simple db.
If we want to break Microsoft’s monopoly than we can’t do that by reimplementing Microsoft’s monopolistic ecosystem. And that creates the opportunity to correct questionable and arbitrary Microsoft decisions.
People are used to MS Office now but so were they used to typewriters a few decades ago. And if we’re changing OSes we don’t have to stick to one office suite.
Is it forbidden in English to use commas?
