But THIS response is Vlad the Impaler levels of overkill.
I resent the comparison to one of my country’s most beloved leaders.
Why is he watching it inside the remote connection window instead of his own browser?
Sci-fi spacesuits could be more advanced and maintain a higher internal pressure. The ones happening in the future at least.
The word for floors in my native language is the same as the word for “upstairs”. And it’s the same in a lot of European languages (French étage). And the ground floor has its own separate word. Using French as an example again, the word is parterre, literally meaning “on the ground”. So numbering in Europe goes ground floor, first floor, and so on. Now in English, the word being the same, it can sound confusing, but I assume the British just adopted the same system as the rest of Europe for consistency (although they’re not usually known for doing that).
I always explained this difference between floor numbers in my country and the US by language: in my language the word used for upper floors only means upper floors, so the 1st floor has to be above the ground floor; while in English they’re all floors, so ground floor is the first floor.
But I didn’t know the British use the same system as my country (and most of Europe afaik). They could’ve just adopted the same system, despite language, for consistency.
What about people who enjoyed the animated series?
To put it simple: fine china is ceramic, but so are bricks.
It baffles me that these types of jobs exist in the same area as mine. My company doesn’t care what hours I work as long as I get things done, has gone fully remote and never going back, encourages people to not burn themselves out and take time off, we have actual unlimited PTO (i.e. nobody coming after me for using too much), etc. I always thought that’s just the Silicon Valley mentality, but I keep seeing news of big tech companies doing all kinds of crazy backwards things and I don’t get it. All the perks I get are not because my company is run by angels, it’s because they understand we’re actually more productive that way.
it’s not like the kid knew either way
That’s why the mother got charged. She was supposed to know better. And leaving an loaded gun where a child can get it does make a difference vs leaving an unloaded gun where a child can get it
The child is 6. Wouldn’t she take the fall no matter what?
Just off the top of my head, some of the bands I’ve seen live before moving to the US: Iron Maiden, Manowar, Megadeth, Anthrax, Metallica, Slayer, Rammstein, Uriah Heep, Volbeat, Mastodon, Alice in Chains.
All the bands I’ve seen live after moving to the US: Laibach, Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Both were a decade ago.
Maybe a bot avoiding detection of duplicate posts?
He didn’t get arrested for AI generated music. He got arrested for faking multiple accounts to upload music and using bots to generate fake listens, thus stealing millions of dollars. If he did the same thing with music he actually wrote and played, he would still be arrested.

That’s a good question. I’ve wondered that too. I don’t know any cases of single households being fined.
I know the apartment complex I used to live in got fined for not recycling enough.
My area has separate trucks for each type of trash (regular, recycle, compost). And fines people for throwing the wrong things in the wrong bin.
Just yesterday I was reminiscing with my wife about how TP rolls used to have no tube when we were children and how hard it was to find the center to put them on the holder.
“Observe” in the double-slit experiment means placing detectors in each slit. Once you do that, the particles start acting as particles only. Without detectors you get the interference pattern. Doesn’t matter in either of the two setups if an actual human is looking at it or not.
If you read the whole text and interpret the highlights as emphasis then it’s just annoying and hard to read (sort of like those people who add random commas everywhere). If you read just the highlighted text then it sounds like a summary, but there are mistakes in it, which is why I assumed AI.
