Yeah, um, those look pretty beat. I’ve heard 300-500 miles (~500-800km) for running shoes. I don’t own a car, so I walk a lot, and had been replacing my shoes every 3-4 months since I was wearing a single pair for almost everything. I recently decided to buy one pair for walking and just casual use, and a second pair that’s just for running.

I have definitely had times in the past where I began to notice some minor aches when running, so I bought a new pair of the same shoes, and the aches disappeared!

Maaaan. I’ve tried both the X10’s and the X20’s, and I really liked that they have soft, flexible ear hooks and physical buttons. Some of the other ones I’ve tried had stiffer hooks that would hurt my ears after a while, and/or the controls were via touch, not an actual, clickable button.

But both the X10’s and the X20’s had this weird skipping/stuttering issue whenever I was out and about (walking, running, etc.), but were just fine if I was stationary. I think it must’ve been some sort of interference issue, but I just don’t understand. I have some older bluetooth Soundcore earbuds that don’t have that issue, but they’re on their last legs, so I’ve been trying to find a replacement.

Can you direct me to any sort of source on that? I did a brief search, and I see some information about toxins found in tomato plants in general, (mostly stems, leaves, and green/unripe tomatoes), but nothing that specifically discusses a higher concentration in the “belly button” (I assume you mean the core/where the stem connects?) vs. the rest of the fruit.

So, that’s what makes all of his complaints even crazier! I’ve heard multiple stories about cats that wouldn’t even use a box after it’s been used once, or at least very high standards for cleanliness!

For mine, I have multiple different boxes for them, but they each have their own preferences. I have tried waiting until the box that my oldest prefers is so gross that he’s no longer using it, a d has moved to a different box, but even then, he gets crazy mad at me for touching it. I’ve tried sprinkling some used litter in the new box for him, so that it still smells like him, and he still gets very angry!

One of the boxes that he gets angry about me cleaning is automatic, but it’s a "PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Classic", not a Litter Robot, so it only scoops solid waste to one side. The Litter Robots were too tall for the space I had previously, and as long as my current box works, I just can’t justify something a few hundred bucks on adding another box.

I foster, so I get to see a wide variety of illnesses and learn about their early symptoms, many of which are diarrhea or other abnormal poops. My foster fail had an intussusception, likely caused by irritable bowel disease/syndrome (IBD/IBS). As much as I would absolutely love to spend waaaaay less time thinking about/looking at poop, I just don’t see any practical way around it without putting the health of my cats at risk.

One of mine legitimately gets angry when I scoop his poop, and even more upset when I do a full litter change. I have to wait until he’s napping so that I can get at least part way through the process before he comes to yell at me. If I’m not fast enough, he’ll even nip at my feet and/or (soft paw) swat at me.

I’ve somehow lost rolls to cats rolling in either direction, so my TP roll is now often found in the cabinet above the toilet.

This is more targeted to other people than you, but was the post right next to the couch? One of the smaller details that people often overlook is that scratching leaves their scent behind and says “I live here”, so they will often want to scratch in socially significant parts of the house. So, if the only acceptable scratching surfaces are hidden away from the rooms you actually hang out in, they’re probably going to find something else to scratch on.

Unfortunately, the same logic is sometimes behind litter box issues too.

Awesome! A friend of mine recently found a whole litter of abandoned kittens, so I was trying to help them find some low cost options, and everything around here was booked months out too.

Please be sure to get her spayed ASAP, if she’s not already. They can go into their first heat as early as 4 months old, and will become desperate to get outside!

They’ve been my go to for headphones & speakers for a while, but my last few purchases of different models all ended up getting returned due to the same connectivity issues. Sitting at home, the headphones are fine, but when I’m out for a walk, they experience some sort of interference that causes the music to skip/stutter. I still have an old, long discontinued, pair of Anker earbuds, and when I go for the same walk with those, there’s zero connectivity issues.

I’m pretty sure that you’re talking about applies when an employee lives in one state full time, but receives a paycheck from a company in a different state. They may live near the state line and commute across the border, or they may be fully remote, but either way, their work is consistently happening in the same location.

In this case, he’s working part time in California, and part time in Washington. The exact laws vary by state… in some states, your tax liability begins on the day you start working there, while others have a certain threshold, but I’m pretty sure he’s crossing whatever threshold there might be. So for the days that he’s working in Washington for a company based in Washington, Washington income taxes apply, and for the days he works from California, California income taxes apply.

Since Washington doesn’t have an income tax, and California does, he will still definitely have to file in California.

Well, there’s no income tax in Washington, but I think technically you’re supposed to pay based on where you physically work. So, if he’s only working 3/5 days in Washington, that’s only 60% of his salary that falls under Washington’s rules.

I’ve gotten sick less often since masks & WFH, but when I do get sick now, it feels much, much worse. These days, if I think I might be sick, I stay home as much as possible, and wear a good mask when I do have to be near other people, but if I’m feeling well, haven’t knowingly been around anyone sick, and am going somewhere that masks aren’t expected, I just don’t want to wear a steam room on my face.

Also, I live in an area where masking is still very acceptable. I know there’s many other areas where masking is either illegal or just very frowned upon, so I’d probably be pretty hesitant to mask up there, even if I was sick.

Garmin. You’ll probably spend a bit more on the hardware, but there’s nothing locked behind a subscription. I had the Fitbit Sense and switched to the Garmin Forerunner 265. If the skin temperature sensor is important to you, you’ll want a different model, but that’s the only thing I’ve noticed as missing so far.

Doing better than me! I bet you know more than you realize. I was very off and on, probably had a 200 day streak going, but got frustrated with changes they made a year or two ago, and gave up completely.

5 and a half years and you’re still not fluent?

I’m not sure about compatibility with HA (saw this via /all), but I bought the Whynter ARC-14S and a Broadlink IR universal remote + sensor cable so that I could set up some automations and/or control the AC via my phone. I think any AC with an IR remote should work in that setup.

If you’re in an area that gets lots of poor air quality days while you’ll be running it (my area usually gets a few weeks of terrible air in August & September due to wildfires), a dual hose AC is definitely worthwhile.

While searching for pictures, I saw something saying that they’re supposedly still available for sale in Australia, so maybe there’s a chance they’ll get worn out before hitting the landfill?
