  • My coworker told me he’s spent I think he said $8,000 on Destiny 2. That was half a year ago or more. So more by now. I was so floored that I don’t remember the number exactly but it was astronomical. One of the few times in my life I struggled not to show a disrespectful amount of shock or however you wanna put that.

Today he told me his friends are trying to get him into Warframe. But he said he didn’t like the idea of not being able to get into the main quests without jumping through hoops. I don’t know either game well, but I’m pretty sure that’s ironic.

It’s escapism for him, I know that much, so it’s tangential.

  • It’s the only platform I still regularly engage with minus this, being lemmy, tildes, and watchpeopledie.tv/h/slavshit because I get a lot of interesting stuff to watch and people still come on there on their own to express themselves about stuff I care about. But yeah, the fact that YouTube weathered the onslaught of russian bots and kept all my UA supporting channels up earned my respect. Which it’s a great way to keep up if you’re not on Telegram, or are just depressed by the shit, I think it’s a damn good platform. Best thing google has imo.

But to each their own. I’m not like the vast majority of people.

Edit: I’ve been suspicious of Mr. Beast for many years. The deadness behind the eyes clued me into him actually. No one that successful with that kinda look is squeaky clean. That’s been the only thing besides the obvious this person is wealthy, probably not amazing, that’s made me dislike his stuff. Also the clickbaity nature of his content.

  • I get downvoted on here for supporting Ukraine. Russians execute Ukrainians in cold blood, or torture them first.

Something is wrong here if we can’t agree that’s fucked up, AND that American support of Israel isn’t right.

I think it might have to do with the meme.

I spend a lot more time on r/ukrainewarvideoreport now than I do here because of that. I don’t have the energy to argue what is clear as day any more.

  • I read an article that basically said we give up on trying to categorize you guys (97), you’re just “transitionals”. Not millennial or gen z. And honestly I get that. I only remember 9/11 because of my mother’s reaction. I grew up in a weird phase for tech. And I don’t feel like I belong to either group.

So I think they cracked the code!
