It’s for a 2007 gmc sierra if you have a GM specific recommendation. I tried a couple random apps but they don’t seem to find the “service airbag” error on my dash.

Bonus points if FOSS but I also have 13 dollars credit on play store.

If you’re using an elm327 adapter you probably won’t ever get where you’re wanting to be.

Yeah, you might get basic info. But you are probably not going to be getting really useful fault info or clearing codes.

No idea what make it is, but I spent about $50 on one that was pretty useful.

I have a professional scanner that cost $1200 with programming.

For daily stuff I use a cheap ELM and the torque app. Works even with many AWD systems.

I keep them in every car, even give them away and help people setup their phone with torque and show them how to pull codes. Then when they have issues they can at least send me codes.

But best bang for buck I’ve found is BlueDriver. Yea, it’s $100 for the reader (app is free), but it works nearly as well as my pro unit.

Still, 98/100 times good old $13 elm + torque app gets what I need, even codes from trans/awd/abs. Occasionally it won’t be able to access a system, but rarely.
